“I Thought I Had to Earn Love by Disappearing.”

I’m Debbie Au Yeung, a narrative and embodiment coach.

In 2015, my parents took a day off from the restaurant on my birthday to surprise me. A month earlier, I had called them to tell them I was getting a divorce.

That day, we sat in my kitchen talking about my situation. My mom paced back and forth, mumbling in Cantonese. My aunt and uncle checked the feng shui of the house. A family friend explained what divorce would mean. I stayed quiet at the table, doing what I had learned to do best. Hold everything together.

Then my dad interrupted and said something I will never forget.
“Debbie, no matter what decision you make, I support you.”

In that moment, I felt truly seen.

I also realized how much of myself I had given away to keep others comfortable. My voice. My needs. My truth. I had built a life that looked successful from the outside, but inside I felt numb. Safe, but small. Accomplished, but lost.

Coaching found me quietly after that. A coworker mentioned it over lunch. A friend handed me a discount code to a CTI training. Two days into my first program, I coached a friend and felt a fire wake up in my body. A deep knowing. This is what I am here to do.

Today, I work with people who recognize themselves in that story. People who learned early how to carry responsibility, stay quiet, and earn belonging. People who are ready to stop disappearing and begin living from who they actually are.

Together, we reconnect you to your clarity, confidence, and inner authority. Not by rejecting where you come from, but by choosing yourself with honesty and care.

You matter. You have impact, whether you realize it or not.

This is an invitation to step into a life that is fully yours.

If something in this resonated, this is where we can begin.

“If something in you feels curious, that’s enough to begin.”
